Get Ready To Shake, Rattle And Rumble Again

Brace yourselves.

Marines stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst will be conducting more training this weekend, according to an announcement on the base’s Facebook page.

“G Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment is scheduled to conduct field artillery training at the Dix ranges April 24-25 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.,” the announcement said.

In mid-March, low cloud cover resulted in the noise from the training being heard as far away as Eagleswood and Point Pleasant. This weekend the forecast is for clear skies so the noise may not be as noticeable except for those closest to the base.

“JB MDL works hard to minimize the impact our training has on the community, and is committed to remaining good neighbors. We appreciate your patience during this essential training, helping to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force,” the statement said.
