MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Drama Club will present Disney’s "High School Musical" live on stage next weekend.

The show, which focuses on the adventures of Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez and their classmates as they prepare for their high school's musical, is set to be performed April 8 and 9 at Mancester Township High School.

"High School Musical is a fun upbeat show featuring a lot of students playing enjoyable characters and gets a lot of people involved," Krystyna Hubbard, the director and drama club adviser, told the Talon 2.0, the Manchester High School publication.

Chris Pasos plays Troy Bolton, Genesis Salguero is Gabriella Montez, and Casey Cribbin and Hailey Corvino play twins Sharpay and Ryan. Troy is the star of the High School Wildcats basketball team, and Gabriella is the new girl in school, who is very talented in science. Sharpay and Ryan are the queen and king of the drama club and are determined to steal Troy and Gabriella’s roles in the musical.

The play will have a rock band, pit orchestra, and upbeat music.

The performances are set for 7 p.m. April 8, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 9 in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $12 online or $15 at the door. You can buy tickets here.
