Golf Outing Raises $20,000 For Manchester Education Foundation

Funds used to provide tech items, other supplies for township classrooms

Nearly $20,000 was raised last month at the Manchester Township Educational Foundation/EyesFirst Vision Center’s sixth annual golf outing at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. Golfers enjoyed six holes of golf, despite some afternoon thunderstorms, and Eagle Ridge invited golfers back to play a round of golf on a sunnier day.

The money raised goes to help the education foundation continue its efforts to support the Manchester Township schools. in the past, money raised by the foundation has paid for computers, interactive whiteboards, projectors and MOBI computer tablets; iPads, Kindle electronic readers, musical instruments, art supplies, math, language arts and science materials, and more. The foundation also helped pay for the installation of WiFi in schools.

Since MTEF was created and incorporated as a nonprofit charitable organization, it has worked with scholarship partners to award $81,500 to Manchester Township High School graduates, said Marge Camposano, a member of the MTEF board.
