Your eyeglasses will stay comfortable and looking nice substantially longer with proper care. The following are some do's and don'ts that will help you get the most wear out of your prescription eyeglasses.

Do: Keep your eyeglasses in a protective case when not wearing them.
Leaving glasses on your dashboard, throwing them in your purse, slipping them in a pocket or storing them in a drawer will all lead to a variety of mishaps that range from bent or broken frames to scratched or cracked lenses.

Do: Use lens cleaning solution and a lens cloth to clean your lenses.
Never rub or wipe your dry lenses! Never use a stiff, scratchy paper towel or a "with lotion" tissue to clean your lenses. The only way to be certain you are not scratching your lenses is to always clean them with the proper materials.
Do: Take your eyeglasses off your head when not using them.
Hanging from a neck chain or stored in their case are both favorable options. You should not prop your eyeglasses up on top of your head. This stretches your frame out of place and loosens the fit of your eyeglasses.
Do: Stop into your Optician’s office for regular maintenance and adjustments of your eyeglasses.
Even with the best of daily care your eyeglasses will slowly loosen and shift. The ONLY professional you should trust to bring your eyeglasses back to their original fit is a LICENSED Optician or Optometrist. A Licensed Optician has completed the proper schooling, passed the NJ State Board Exam, been licensed by the State of NJ and is continually reinforcing their expertise in the field with regular Continued Education courses. You should ALWAYS ask for a Licensed Optician to care for EVERY aspect of your optical needs, from a regular adjustment to repairing or replacing your eyeglasses.
