It's Cold, Manchester; Give Others The Gift Of Warmth

Township running its annual coat drive

As the temperatures have dipped below freezing in recent days, most of us have pulled out our winter gear to bundle up.

For some, pulling out those winter coats isn’t an option ... because they don’t have one.

Manchester Township, in cooperation with Jersey Cares, is working to collect clean used coats -- or new coats -- for donation to those in need. So far, the town has collected 33 coats but they’re hoping to collect a lot more.

Coats are needed for adults and children in all styles and sizes. Snow suits also are needed, especially for children.

If your children have outgrown their coats, or you’re cleaning out a crowded closet, thinking about dropping the old ones off at town hall. There is a lobby for donations, which will be accepted Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Dec. 15.
