Joint Base Conducting Training Thursday

JOINT BASE McGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, NJ — People who live in the towns surrounding the military base should be prepared to hear explosions all day Thursday, as training is being conducted at the base, officials said.

In a post on the base's Facebook page, officials said noise from the training, which began at 8 a.m., will be "continuing throughout the night.

Sounds from the explosions may be heard for several miles, officials said.

"JB MDL is committed to being a good neighbor and we appreciate our surrounding community's understanding as we work to train America's fighting force!" the post said.
