Joint Base Conducting Training Thursday

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, NJ — Officials at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst said troops will be conducting heavy weapons training at the base Thursday.

That means you may hear loud booms anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the announcement by the base.

"Thank you for your understanding as we train America's best warfighters!" the notice said.

Weather conditions can makes the booms seem louder or closer than they actually are; "rest assured we are taking every precaution to keep our service members and surrounding community safe," the notice said.
