Many buildings in Lakehurst, including the elementary school, are without power

All schools in Manchester and Lakehurst are closed for the remainder of the week, administrators from both districts have announced.
Lakehurst Elementary School, located in the borough's downtown, has been without power since Hurricane Sandy struck on Monday. Classes already were canceled through Wednesday, Superintendent of Schools Jill Dobrowansky said.
Manchester Superintendent of Schools David Trethaway said Wednesday afternoon that all schools, including Regional Day School in Jackson, also will be closed for the remainder of the week.
