Lakehurst Man Charged In Connection With Numerous Burglaries In Senior Villages
Second person may be charged soon
Manchester Township police recently arrested a 19-year-old Lakehurst man and and charged him with 11 counts of possession of stolen property in connection with a burglary spree spanning several Manchester senior villages last winter.
Detective Christopher Hemhauser arrested Kevin M. Monahan, Union Avenue, on April 18, after a lengthy investigation. Police in Manchester were assisted by officers in Beachwood, Toms River and Howell.
Twenty burglaries occurred between Nov. 16 and Dec. 21 last year in Crestwood Village V and VI, Country Walk and Whiting Station, police said.

All of the burglaries occurred with either the rear or front door forced in while the homeowners were not at home. The homes were ransacked and various pieces of jewelry and cash were taken, some of which was identified at local jewelry stores. The items were already melted down or resold.
Manchester detectives anticipate charges are forthcoming with a second individual in connection with the burglaries. Monahan was lodged on $50,000 bail.
