Lakehurst Man Charged With Marijuana Distribution After Motor Vehicle Stop
The 17-year-old driver of the car was arrested as well, police said.

A Lakehurst man is facing charges of marijuana distribution charges after a motor vehicle stop in the borough last week, police said.
Matthew Nyhammer, 19, faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and sale and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, Lakehurst Police Chief Eric Higgins said.
Additionally, a 17-year-old from Toms River who was driving the car that was pulled over has been charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Higgins said.

The 17-year-old was pulled over by Officer Ryan Cahill and Sgt. Matthew Kline on July 22. During the stop, Nyhammer was found to be in possession of an unspecified amount of marijuana and more than $1,000 cash, Higgins said. The investigation uncovered that Nyhammer was distributing marijuana in the Lakehurst and Manchester area, he said.
The Lakehurst Police Department was assisted by members of the Manchester Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit.
