Lakehurst Man Threatened To Kill Woman After Sex Assault: OCPO

The woman called 911 after the incident; the man was being held at the Ocean County Jail, authorities said.

LAKEHURST, NJ — A Lakehurst man is being held at the Ocean County Jail on charges he sexually assaulted a woman and threatened to kill her, the Ocean County prosecutor's office announced.

Mark Coleman, 25, of Lakehurst, was arrested Thursday, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office.

Della Fave said a 23-year-old woman called 911 on Oct. 31 reporting that Coleman had physically and sexually assaulted her, then threatened to kill her.

Lakehurst Police Sgt. Matthew Kline and Detective Stephanie Bayha of the prosecutor's office's Special Victims Unit investigated the incident and arrested Coleman at his Orchard Street home on Thursday afternoon, Della Fave said.

Assistant Prosecutor Mara Brater approved the charges of sexual assault, aggravated assault and terroristic threat, Della Fave said.

After processing, he was remanded to the Ocean County Jail pending his detention hearing, and remained there as of Saturday morning, according to Ocean County Corrections Department online records.
