Lakehurst Police Charge Man With Resisting Arrest

He was accused of throwing things at cars driving past, police said.

A man who was reportedly throwing things at cars passing by on Route 37 was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, Lakehurst police said.

Lakehurst Police Chief Eric Higgins said police were called to the area of the Delta Gas Station on Route 37 for a report of a person throwing things at passing car

The man, Andrew Gonzalez, 26, no known address, was uncooperative with law enforcement officers and became confrontational with them. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice, Higgins said.

While officers placed him in handcuffs he resisted arrest and struggled with the officers. He was ultimately subdued. He was taken to the Lakehurst Police Department for processing were he continued to be uncooperative and was spitting at officers in the processing area and threatened to kill them.

The subject was charged with resisting arrest with force, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, obstruction of justice, and disorderly conduct. He being held at the Ocean County jail in lieu of $25,000 set by Judge Damian Murray.

Assisting in the arrest was Officers Lettman, Drybola, and Vosseller, Higgins said.
