Letter to the Editor: Time for a Fresh Perspective

Letter from Renee Sullivan, Holly Oaks, on mayoral election

The current Manchester administration, The Continued Good Government Team took office in 1990. This same ”non-partisan political party” has maintained control for the past 24 years. Has your quality of life improved over the past 24 years? Have your taxes held steady? (Taxes have outpaced our neighboring towns.)

Have you received improved municipal services? For the vast majority of us, our taxes have steadily increased, with no significant improvement of municipal services.

Are you satisfied with the political appointments of this Mayor? We are paying dearly for the firing of the public works director, and our business administrator was arrested for buying drugs in a township car.

The township received a windfall of host community benefits, in excess of $1.8 million dollars last year due to the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, and the debris that was disposed of at the O.C. Landfill. Did you see significant improvement in our community since we received that windfall?

Have you noticed significant improvements to our township parks? To all of the above, neither have I.

It’s time for a fresh perspective. Vote Ken Palmer for Manchester Mayor on November 4.
