Man Accused Of Burglarizing Lakehurst Home

Police say the man was arrested at the Lakehurst home after a burglary in progress was reported.

LAKEHURST, NJ — A Lakewood man has been charged with burglary after police found him inside a Lakehurst home when they responded to a report of a burglary in progress, police said.

Jibril I. Thompson, 30, of Lakewood, was arrested Thursday after he was found in the home, Lakehurst Officer Robert Schroeck said.

Officer Christian Hernandez responded to the 3:10 p.m. call of a burglary in progress and found Thompson had entered the home without permission and had damaged property inside the house.

Thompson was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief, Schroeck said. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing; he was not listed in the Ocean County Corrections online database on Saturday.

Assisting with the arrest were Sgt. Iain James, Officer Michael Cecchini and Schroeck.
