Man Charged In Lakehurst Car Theft: Police
The man and vehicle later were found in Trenton, police said.

LAKEHURST, NJ — A Lakehurst man has been charged in connection with a car theft that happened Friday night, police said.
Michael D. Carr Jr., 29, of Lakehurst was arrested following the theft, which was reported at 10:10 p.m. on Friday, Lakehurst Police Officer Robert Schroeck said.
Officer William Bowers and Sgt. Iain James arrived at the home where the vehicle was taken from and Carr was identified as the person who had taken the vehicle from the house, Schroeck said.

The vehicle then was listed in a national database as stolen, he said.
A short while later, Trenton police contacted James and said they had found the vehicle, and with Carr driving. Carr was arrested by Trenton police and charged with receiving stolen property.

Carr was brought back to Lakehurst, where he was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and burglary. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending a court appearance.
