Manchester Alum Named Scockton Female Athlete Of The Year
The 2013 graduate was one of two women to earn a berth in the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

GALLOWAY, NJ — A Manchester Township High School alumus has been named the Stockton University Female Athlete of the Year, the university announced Monday.
Cassandra Hrusko, a senior member of the Ospreys' track and field and cross country teams, also received a Scholar Athlete certificate, presented to student athletes with a grade point average of 3.6 or above with a minimum of 24 credits.
Hrusko, a 2013 graduate of Manchester, became one of the first two Stockton females, along with teammate Alicia Belko, to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships in the fall of 2016.

Hrusko led the Ospreys to the program's first NJAC championship and earned NJAC First Team and US Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association all-region nods in Fall 2016. Hrusko then moved on to the indoor track season, where she was selected NJAC Outstanding Track Athlete after winning the mile and 4x800 relay and finishing second in the 800m. She collected two NJAC First Team and one NJAC Second Team kudos as well as USTFCCCA all-region accolades for her efforts.
Hrusko also won the league title and snagged an NJAC First Team spot in the outdoor 1500m last spring.

In her acceptance speech, Hrusko said her mother "inspired me with your work ethic" and her father is "always a phone call away to calm me down or see the humor in things."
