Manchester Celebrates Independence Day With Fireworks
Manchester residents came out to Harry Wright Lake to listen to local bands and watch fireworks for the town's Independence Day celebration
The beach surrounding the lake at Harry Wright Park was packed Saturday night as residents came out to celebrate Independence Day.
According to Recreation Office Manager Cassandra Colgate, this weekend will kick off a summer lineup set to play at the park in the upcoming weeks.
“We had Separate Ways, a Journey Tribute band, as well as Jersey Sound, who do oldies,” Colgate said. “We have upcoming shows without the fireworks and children’s rides.”

Residents arrived early to get a good spot to watch the show from on the beach. No matter where you were in the park, the live band could be heard so no one missed out on the music.
At 9 p.m., Jersey Sound finished their set and as the sunlight faded from the sky, explosions and bursts of color filled the night. Gasps and car alarms from vehicles parked too close to where the fire department had setup could be heard throughout the show. As the fireworks finale came to a close, one thing is certain, it is summertime at the Jersey Shore.
