Manchester Council To Support County's Open Space Purchase

The council announced an executive session will be held before the regular meeting for contract negotiations.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Council has scheduled an executive session before Monday's council meeting.

The closed session is set for 5 p.m. for contract negotiations and personnel, according to the meeting notice provided by Township Clerk Teri Giercyk.

The regular council meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. The agenda for the meeting is fairly short, and includes a resolution supporting the acquisition of land in Manchester by Ocean County through its Natural Lands Trust Fund for open space.

The open space purchase includes nearly 39 acres of land along Ridgeway Road near Hope Chapel Road that had been purchased by a developer for residential development, along with four separate properties that were planned for single-family homes, according to Ocean County land records.
