Manchester Couple Injured When Deer Hits Their Motorcycle
Frederick and Phyllis Fritz of Manchester were taken to a trauma center; they could not avoid the deer, which knocked them off the bike.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Manchester couple was injured Sunday evening when a deer crashed into their motorcycle on Pasadena Road, Manchester police said Monday.
Frederick Fritz, 55, and Phyllis Fritz, 53, were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune following the crash, which happened shortly after 5:30 p.m., police Capt. Vincent Manco said.
The couple was riding a red 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide motorcycle east on Pasadena Road, with Frederick Fritz driving and Phyllis Fritz in the passenger seat, when a deer ran into the road and hit the bike on its left side, knocking both off the motorcycle, Manco said.

The motorcycle kept going forward and came to rest on its side in the dirt shoulder of the westbound lane of Pasadena Road near Mount Misery Road, Manco said, the same intersection where a Jackson man died Saturday when his motorcycle crashed into a motorcycle he was following.
Manco said Frederick Fritz had no chance to evade the deer before it hit the motorcycle.
