Manchester Day's America's 250th Birthday Celebration Rescheduled

Manchester Township has rescheduled its Manchester Day celebration, complete with fireworks.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A rainy forecast for Saturday has forced Manchester Township officials to reschedule the planned Manchester Day celebration.

The event, which also will celebrate America's 250th birthday, now will be held on Sunday, June 28, township Recreation Director Caitlyn Sloan said.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harry Wright Lake, and the vendors, rides and entertainment by Soul Machine will be there, along with fireworks on Sunday evening to cap the celebration, Sloan said.

The rides are free and there will be food and craft vendors, raffles and prizes. Swimming in the lake will be free for the day.

Harry Wright Lake is at 1501 Lake Road in Whiting.
