Performers spread holiday cheer at the Dec. 13 performance

Student performers took to the stage in auditorium Tuesday night to celebrate the season with a combined band and chorus concert.

Under the leadership of Lauren Delesky, who began at the high school this year as its band director, students performed in the pit area to bring them a bit closer to the audience. The Jazz Ensemble surprised listeners with the theme from "Family Guy," then performed more traditional pieces including "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "Carol of the Bells."

"In just four months the kids have worked hard and are extremely excited for tonight," Delesky said. Some students from Jackson Memorial High School and  volunteered to fill in the gaps of missing instruments.

The band and choir then came together for the first time as they performed "Christmas Festival," "Tango Americano" and other selections.
