The event, being held for the first time, aims to "honor the memories of fallen veterans, promote patriotism, create unity as a school community and Nation, and to teach students about the importance of Memorial Day," said Dan Staples, MTEA president and the event organizer.

If it rains, the event will be held in the high school's gym.

The public is encouraged to attend and should RSVP to Staples at dstaples@mtschools.org by May 17.
