Manchester, Lakehurst PDs To Square Off In Doughnut-Eating Contest

The contest is part of Tuesday's joint National Night Out celebration of the two towns.

LAKEHURST, NJ — The Lakehurst and Manchester police departments are collaborating on a joint event for National Night Out.

It is set for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Horicon in Lakehurst.

There will be first responder equipment and vehicle displays, local business vendors, K-9 and SWAT demonstrations, a physical fitness competition for kids 17 and younger, and free food, drinks and raffles and prizes.

There will be a drunken driving simulator to help educate about the dangers of drinking and driving.

And there will be a doughnut eating contest that pits Manchester police against Lakehurst police.

National Night Out started in the 1980s as an effort for police departments to connect with their communities and in doing so, help combat crime.
