Manchester, Lakehurst Schools Closed Friday Due To Blizzard

The Manchester PTA magic show is postponed as well, officials said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township School District and Lakehurst Elementary School will be closed again Friday due to the ongoing impact of the blizzard.

In addition, the Manchester PTA magic show that had been scheduled for Friday evening has been canceled and will be rescheduled, district officials said. All sports and other activities scheduled for Friday have been canceled as well.

The blizzard had dumped mpore than a foot of snow across most of northern Ocean County by early afternoon on Thursday and with conditions deteriorating, cleanup was a slow process. Township crews as well as hundreds of state and Ocean County plow crews were on the roads, but the snow and winds gusting to 50 mph, according to the service, were adding to the challenge.
