Baseball Chat, Artist Reception, Caregiver Information At Manchester Library
Library branch programs offer entertainment and information for residents.

MANCHESTER, NJ – Talk baseball, learn Google Maps or check out an artist's work in the coming days at the Ocean County Library's Manchester branch.
The library has programs frequently for its patrons. Here are some upcoming events and programs:
MAKE GOOGLE MAPS WORK FOR YOU: On Thursday, April 7 at 10 a.m. there will be a workshop on MapQuest and Google Maps. This class will show you how to access directions and road maps, see local traffic and road conditions and locate nearby businesses, restaurants and other points of interest.

Over the next few months, the Manchester branch will be offering a series of free workshops for adults about various aspects of travel planning that can be accomplished with the help of the Internet.
TALKIN' BASEBALL: On Thursday, April 7 at 2 p.m., connect with fellow baseball fans to share memories and discuss predictions for the 2016 Major League Baseball season.

Join the discussion about burning questions like: Will the Phillies finally trade Ryan Howard? Can the Mets’ pitching staff dominate the National League? Who’s the best player in baseball: Bryce Harper or Mike Trout? And, what about that Yankees bullpen? There will be prizes for all attendees.
ARTIST RECEPTION: On Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m., there will be a reception for Olivia Majeski, whose exhibit of sea life watercolor paintings will be on display in the meeting room at the Manchester branch throughout most of April. Drop in to meet the artist, listen to her discuss her work, and share refreshments. There is no registration for this free event.
Interested parties are also permitted to stop by to view the exhibit during the library’s regular business hours whenever the meeting room is available until it is removed (on April 25 or thereabouts). Calling the library beforehand is recommended.
WORKSHOP FOR CAREGIVERS OF SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN: On Monday, April 11 at 1 p.m. representatives from the Ocean County Family Support Organization will offer a workshop geared toward grandparents, parents and other caregivers of children ages 3 to 21 with special emotional or behavioral needs. The discussion will focus on education, advocacy and support. The Family Support Organization is a nonprofit organization made up of parents and community members whose mission is to ensure that all Ocean County families that have children with emotional and behavioral problems are provided community-based resources and support.
This program is open to the adult public, free of charge.
