Arriving police officers determined the scene to be safe and found the son, then brought in medical personnel to treat him, Malland said. John Brescia was taken to Community Medical Center, Toms River, by members of Quality Medical Transport with the assistance of paramedics from MONOC, he said. At this time, John Brescia's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, he said.
The initial investigation determined the stabbing was the result of an argument between the pair that took place Tuesday evening, he said.
Victor Brescia was taken into custody without incident, Malland said.
The investigation was conducted by Patrolman Nicholas Greenwood with the assistance of Detective David Fusaro. Also assisting with the investigation were detectives from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Unit, Malland said.
