Casper was driving a 2015 Jeep Patriot east on Pinewald Keswick Road when he drove off the road onto the shoulders, hitting some road signs and some brush before the SUV overturned and came to rest against a utility pole, Manco said.

Casper was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected through the front passenger-side window, he said. He was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, and was listed in critical but stable condition, Manco said.

Assisting at the scene were EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and volunteer firefighters from the Whiting Volunteer Fire Company.

Manco said Patrolman Conner Yatauro is investigating the crash, but the preliminary investigation shows failure to maintain lane and failure to wear a seatbelt are the contributing factors of the crash.
