Breaking: A Lakehurst woman also was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Toms River in the incident, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Drug charges have been filed against a Manchester man and Lakehurst woman after police stopped their car because the man was wanted on a $14,070 warrant for failure to pay child support, Manchster police said Thursday.

Darryn Jackson, 39, of Whiting, and Tina Piazza, 44, of Lakehurst, are both being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, as a result of the outstanding warrants.

Manchester Lt. Vincent Manco said the police department's narcotics enforcement team pulled over a vehicle in which Jackson was a passenger because they knew he was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants. In addition to the county warrant for nonpayment of child support, Jackson was wanted on a $1,000 warrant out of Berlin Township, a $1,500 warrant out of Milltown and a $400 warrant out of Jackson, Manco said. The specifics of the warrants weren't available, but Ocean County corrections records online indicate he two drug charges and a charge of driving on the revoked list.

Manchester Officer Marc Micciulla and his K-9 partner Storm conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle that resulted in a positive indication to the presence of the odor of a controlled dangerous substance, Manco said, and consent search of the vehicle turned up several articles of drug paraphernalia, he said.
