Manchester Man's Death Ruled A Homicide

Frank Stochel, 55, was found dead in a 6th Avenue home on Monday; his death is being investigated as homicide, authorities said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Authorities have released the identity of a man who was found dead in his 6th Avenue home on Monday in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester.

The death of Frank Stochel, 55, has been ruled a homicide following an autopsy by the Ocean County medical examiner, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Manchester Township Police Chief Lisa Parker said in a joint announcement Wednesday.

Police were called to the 6th Avenue home Monday afternoon for a report of an unresponsive male, authorities said. Stochel was found on the floor. There were no details released on how Stochel was killed.

Authorities said there is no threat to the public and they are continuing to investigate. In addition to Manchester police, the prosecutor's office Major Crime Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded.
