Manchester Planning Board Approves Post-Acute Care Facility

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Planning Board voted unanimously in favor of a 124-room post-acute care facility Tuesday. After hearing concerns from a lawyer representing neighbors concerned about light and noise, the Board voted to move the project, which will be known as Spring Hill Manchester, forward for state and CAFRA approval.

Spring Hill will be located at 2132 Route 37 West, on a 7.6-acre property next to the Manchester Family Golf Center and woods. It will offer short-term care, skilled nursing, and clinical rehabilitation for patients transitioning to their home after a hospital stay, according to past Planning Board minutes. The facility will be three stories tall and offer 124 rooms, as well as 108 parking spots.

Due to the lengthy nature of state approval, Planning Boardmember James Teague told Patch he is not sure of any exact date when construction of the project might start or finish. The Planning Board unanimously voted to give the site preliminary approval on Jan. 21, 2021. During that meeting, neighbors expressed concerns that people would be able to look into their yard, and electrical generators would generate noise and pollution. The Planning Board requested a number of changes, including the planting of numerous trees to protect neighbors' privacy.
