Manchester Police Blotter: Burglary Bust Highlights Week's Arrests
Charges against one of the two men in a string of retirement community burglaries were upgraded, records show.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Two men arrested in a string of burglaries at two of Manchester's senior communities were the biggest arrests in the Manchester Township police blotter released this week.
Nicholas A. Marino and Patrick A. Frew were arrested Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9, respectively, by detectives investigating the burglaries that occurred in Leisure Knoll and Leisure Ridge over the course of a month, Manchester police said.
Marino, 24, of Bayville, who was charged with seven counts of burglary, six counts of theft, and one count of receiving stolen property and was taken to the Ocean County Jail, with bail set at $90,400, no 10 percent option. He has since been released on bail.

Frew, 28, of Toms River, was initially charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft, but Ocean County Corrections records show he now faces 13 counts of burglary, eight counts of theft, two counts of criminal mischief and a count of hindering his prosecution by giving false information to a police officer.
Frew's total bail now is $135,500, but he's being held without bond on two of the counts, according to the records.
