Manchester Police Chief Panelist At Policing Town Hall

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is hosting a virtual town hall Wednesday on policing and the community; Chief Lisa Parker will speak.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Manchester Township Police Chief Lisa Parker will be speaking at a virtual town hall Wednesday evening looking at the relationship between law enforcement and the community that's being hosted by the Ocean County Prosecutor's office.

The event, "Moving Forward: A Conversation on Law Enforcement and Community Policing," has is set for 6 p.m., the prosecutor's office said. The event was postponed from July 22.

The event will be streamed live on the prosecutor's office website here. You can submit questions to the panel through a form on the livestream at www.ocponj.gov/21-21 or by email to communityquestions@co.ocean.nj.us.

The virtual town hall will focus on social justice, use of force, police accountability and training and internal affairs investigations.

The event is hosted by Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and the prosecutor's office, and will have several members of law enforcement and community leaders participating. In addition to Parker, Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy and Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little are scheduled to participate.

U.S. Rep. Andy Kim will give opening remarks. The panel also will include Robert Czepiel Jr., NJ's supervising deputy attorney general; Joseph F. Mitchell, chief of detectives in the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office; Chief William Dikun, the chief instructor at the Ocean County Police Academy; Capt. Anthony Carrington of the Special Investigations Unit at the prosecutor's office; Sgt. Thomas Tiernan of the Special Investigations Unit at the prosecutor's office; William Sharfenberg, chief of professional standards for the prosecutor's office; Renee T. White, supervising assistant prosecutor for the prosecutor's office; Agent Michael Colwell, with community outreach at the prosecutor's office; Rev. William A. Greene, pastor at Second Baptist Church of Toms River; Rev. William Simmons, assistant pastor at Sixth Street Baptist Church, and Jasmin Guarin, founder of the Junior Community Ambassadors Club at Toms River High School South.
