Manchester Police: Impaired Driving Stop Leads To Seizure Of Nearly 500 Heroin Doses

A Beachwood man is facing drug charges after police found nearly 500 bags of heroin during a traffic stop Tuesday night, Manchester police said.
David A. Behr, 50, of Anchor Avenue, was stopped shortly before midnight for motor vehicle violations by Patrolman Keith Craig, Capt. Todd Malland said.
Behr showed signs of impairment and Craig arrested him on a charge of driving while impaired, he said. During the investigation, police found Behr was in possession of 494 bags of heroin, Malland said.

Behr was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distributed, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to the driving while impaired charge, he said.
Behr is being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $5,000 bail, no 10 percent.
