The RadioShack store at the Manchester Plaza on Route 70 has begun offering deep discounts on merchandise as the electronics retailer moves to close the store in the coming weeks.
The store -- along with four others in Ocean County -- is on a list of more than 1,700 the retailer is closing as part of a massive restructuring, Fox Business reported. The company, based in Texas, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.
RadioShack stores in Manahawkin, Tuckerton and two in Toms River -- at the Ocean County Mall and at the Tri-City Shopping Center, at the intersection of Routes 9 and 70 -- also are on the closure list, which includes 45 stores in New Jersey. The company has 4,000 locations nationwide.

Four RadioShack locations in Ocean County -- at the Toms River Shopping Center, along with ones in Brick, Lakewood and Lacey -- will remain open.
