Manchester School Board Holding Budget Hearing Wednesday
Breaking: The hearing on the 2017-18 school budget will be held in the media center at Ridgeway Elementary School tonight.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the 2017-18 school budget Wednesday, April 26 (tonight) at Ridgeway Elementary School.
The budget hearing is part of the monthly school board meeting; the public portion of the meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Budget figures included in the agenda posted for the meeting include a general fund tax levy of $43,977,813, an increase of $1,205,477 over the 2016-17 general fund tax levy of $42,772,336. The debt service tax levy for 2017-18 is $2,786,339, according to the agenda. The figures in the agenda do not include the anticipated school purposes tax rate for 2017-18.

The district received $5,811,621 in state aid in the 2016-17 school year, according to the user-friendly budget on the district's website, and is estimating it will receive $6,005,255 in 2017-18, including a $250,000 in extraordinary aid.
The estimated equalized school tax rate, including debt service, in the 2016-17 budget was $1.2185 per $100 of assessed valuation, according to the user-friendly budget on the district's website.
