MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Board of Education is scheduled to hold its reorganization meeting at 5 p.m. Jan. 4 in the conference room at Manchester Township Middle School.

The meeting is scheduled to include the swearing in of Gayle Mount, who was re-elected to the board. Mount served as board vice president in 2022.

Also elected was Gina Georgiano, to the one-year unexpired term of Melanie Biscardi, who resigned from the board because she moved out of Manchester. Georgiano had been appointed to Biscardi's seat for the remainder of 2022.

Daniel R. Staples, who served on the board for three years, did not seek re-election, and only Mount was on the ballot in November, after two people who filed petitions in July dropped out of the election.

There were 784 write-in votes, according to the official results published by the Ocean County Clerk's office, but those results did not indicate who received them.
