Manchester Schools' Kindergarten Registration Begins

The district holds registration alphabetically by last name. If your child will be 5 by Oct. 1, learn how to register.

MANCHESTER, NJ — If you have a child who will be 5 years old by Oct. 1 and you're ready to sign them up for kindergarten, the time is now in the Manchester Township School District.

Registration for the 2019-2020 school year is alphabetical by last name. Last names starting A-H register Tuesday, March 12, and Wednesday, March 13; last names I-R, Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20, and last names S-Z on Tuesday, March 26 and Wednesday, March 27.

Registration is from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.-3:15 p.m. each day at the township's Board of Education Office, 121 Route 539, Whiting, NJ 08759.

To register, your child must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2019 and must be present at the time of registration.

You will need:

  • Original birth certificate with raised municipal seal
  • 2 Proofs of Residence – One from each group:
    • Group 1 – Copy of Township bill, deed, lease or builder’s contract (if living with a resident, a signed, notarized letter from that resident stating you and your child(ren) live at the address accompanied by one of the Group 1 items)
    • Group 2 – Copy of current utility bill or home insurance statement or driver’s license
  • Physical required within 365 days of 1st day of school
  • Doctor’s certificate of completed immunizations to include:
    • DPT Series & Booster - after age 4
    • Polio Series & Booster - after age 4
    • MMR #1 & #2 - after age 4
    • Varicella Vaccine (Chicken Pox) – on or after 1st birthday
    • Hepatitis B Virus Vaccine Series
    • Mantoux - Tuberculin Test (TB) - Recommended
    • Influenza Vaccine - Recommended

Registration must be completed by parent or legal guardian.

The registration will not be considered complete without the above-listed information and documentation. Any missing documents MUST be submitted within 30 days of your child starting school.
