MANCHESTER, NJ — Parents and students getting ready for the new school year may want to add another item to their "to do" list: Downloading the Manchester Township School District's new app.

The district announced the launch of the app and a makeover of the district's website as staff and families gear up for the 2023-24 school year.

Part of the motivation for the new app, Superintendent John Berenato said, was feedback from the strategic planning process that said communication needs to improve.

"Most families use their phones as a primary means of communication, so we have worked to update our website and create a compatible app that is custom-built so that the school community can easily access the district from their smartphones," Berenato said.

Staff members across the district are being trained on how to use the new app for sharing information with students' families and guardians.

On the app, students, families and staff members will be able to read the latest announcements, locate staff contact information, review upcoming events, and find important documents, the district said.

"It is also here where they can stay up-to-date with access to events, documents, news from administrators, student stories, and even emergency notifications," the district said.

The app is free and available for iPhones on the Apple App Store or for Android phones on the Google Play store.

The district shared this information about the app for new users:
