Manchester Schools Make Changes To 2021-22 District Calendar
There are changes in days off and to the final day of school — and graduation — approved Wednesday night by the Board of Education.
MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Board of Education approved several changes to the school district's calendar for the 2021-22 school year, including a change to the last day of school, which also affects graduation.
In February, an in-service day that was set for Feb. 1 has been moved to Feb. 2 due to the emergency closing that happened Dec. 3 when the district and law enforcement were investigating a potential threat that was later found to not be credible.
The Feb. 2 closure is for students while the staff participates in professional development, the district said. It also is the last day of the marking period and could change further if there are more emergency closings before Feb. 2.

The last day of school has been moved to June 21, in part because of the Dec. 3 closure. But the change also reflects the addition of the schools being closed June 17 because of the new state holiday in observance of Juneteenth.
The final day of school is subject to further change if there are more emergency closings before then. Parents with graduating students are advised that graduation is held on the last day of school and is also subject to change.

All marking period, progress report and report card dates also have been moved back one day because of the Dec. 3 emergency closing.
The district website calendar has been updated with the new dates.
