MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township High School senior Aaliyah Douglas has been chosen to perform in the All Shore Chorus in February, the Manchester Schools announced.

The All Shore Chorus, which was started in 1962, is comprised of the best high school choir singers from Monmouth and Ocean counties. The chorus aims to challenge students "by performing academic pieces that challenge and prepare them for singing beyond high school," the organization says.

To earn an invitation, Douglas had to go through a rigorous audition process. Since she was chosen, she has been attending rehearsals — there are 10 total throughout January — to prepare for the annual performance.
