Manchester Student Honored By National Computing Organization
Freshman Katherine Estevanell has been honor by the National Center for Women & Information Technology.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Manchester Township High School freshman has been honored for her work in computing and technology.
Katherine Estevanell has received an Affiliate Honorable Mention recipient of the 2023 National Center for Women & Information Technology Award for Aspirations in Computing.
The awards honors women in grades 9 through 12 who are active and interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions, the organization's website says.

"AiC (Aspirations in Computing) uses prestigious awards, scholarships, internships, and professional opportunities to amplify voices, build identity, reward persistence, and recognize fortitude as women increase their technical, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills," the website says.
Award for Aspirations in Computing recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post‑secondary education. Nearly 8,600 women have been honored with the award.

According to the organization, 2023 high school and educator awardees are recognized for their academic excellence, leadership, future goals in computing and technology.
Each recipient of the National Award Winner, National Honorable Mention, Regional Affiliate Award Winner, Regional Affiliate Honorable Mention, and Affiliate Rising Star awards receives an individual trophy or certificate and swag prizes.
