PHOTOS: Manchester Hosts ROTC Regional Meet
Weekend meet featured teams from 10 schools in three states
Teams from 10 schools in three states visited Manchester this past weekend to compete in the annual ROTC Area Four Regional Drill meet.
Students from Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey performed Military Drill, Color Guard and Exhibition Drill routines at on Saturday, Dec. 3.
The Marine Academy of Science and Technology from Sandy Hook placed first, Seaford High School from Delaware came in second, and Passaic County Technical Institute finished third, said Manchester High School's Senior Naval Science Instructor Zenon Hac.

Though Manchester did not finish in the top three, the advisor applauded the efforts of his students.
"Manchester performed extremely well and we are proud of their efforts," Hac said.

The schools "competed for the bragging rights and a trip to Area 4 Championship Meet to be held sometimes in May," Hac said.
Founded in 1964, the ROTC places an emphasis on developing leadership and citizenship qualities in secondary school students.
