Manchester Wants Residents' Thoughts On Town's Future: Take The Survey

A community visioning survey aims to get residents' comments on what Manchester's Master Plan should look like going forward.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township is seeking residents' comments in a survey regarding the town's Master Plan.

The survey (you can take it here) is part of efforts by the township to earn State Plan Endorsement, township officials said.

State Plan Endorsement is a voluntary review process that aims to ensure state, county and town land-use planning is working together and following the same goals, according to the state Office of Planning Advocacy, part of New Jersey's Department of State. That office "coordinates statewide planning to protect the environment and guide future growth into compact, mixed-use development and redevelopment," according to its website.

The endorsement process expands on municipal land use law and incorporates current State policies, regulations and priorities, and receiving plan endorsement makes a town "eligible for a host of benefits provided by state agencies," according to the state website. That includes coordinated capital investment and planning implementation mechanisms.

The Community Visioning survey focuses on what residents want to see for the future of the town from a land use planning perspective.
