Manchester Woman Had 20 Bags Of Heroin, Police Say

The 19-year-old was arrested Sunday evening.

A 19-year-old Manchester woman is facing drug charges after 20 bags of heroin were found on her after she was pulled over Sunday evening in Manchester, police said.

Brittany N. Davis, 19, of Commonwealth Boulevard, was behind the wheel of a Buick Regal that was pulled over on Route 571 near Ridgeway Boulevard about 7:45 p.m. on Sunday for failure to maintain its lane, Capt. Todd Malland said.

During the stop, paraphernalia associated with heroin use was discovered inside the car, and Davis was arrested. While at police headquarters, Davis was searched by a female police officer, who found two bundles (20 bags) of heroin concealed on Davis, Malland said.

That led police to Davis’ residence, where consent to search the home was obtained. As a result of the search, hypodermic needles and other paraphernalia associated with heroin use was recovered, he said.

Davis was charged with possession of heroin, hindering apprehension, possession of hypodermic needles/syringes, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to surrender a controlled dangerous substance, he said.

She is being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $11,000 bail.

Also assisting with the investigation was Sgt. Summer Cunliffe of the Lakewood Township Police Department and Officer Kevin Fennessey and with his K-9 Stosh of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, Malland said.
