ICYMI: Manchester Woman Had 92 Bags of Heroin: Police

Rocquel Barretto also had a crack pipe and crack cocaine when she was arrested, Lakehurst police said.

A Manchester woman was arrested this week on heroin distribution charges after was found carrying 92 doses of heroin in a car, Lakehurst police said.

Lakehurst Officer Jason Guide stopped a 2011 Honda about 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday after the passenger was seen conducting a narcotics sale by Sgt. Matthew Kline, Lakehurst Police Chief Eric Higgins said.

The passenger, Rocquel Barretto, 27, was arrested after officers recovered 92 bags of heroin, crack cocaine, and a crack pipe from her possession, he said.

The driver of the vehicle, Craig Stratton, 51, from the Forked River section of Lacey, was issued two tickets, for failure to signal his turn and for a cracked windshield, Higgins said.

Barretto was transported to the Lakehurst Police Department for processing, where she was charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of crack cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, he said.

She was being held in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $50,000 bail set by Judge Damian Murray.

The Lakehurst Police Department was assisted by members of the Manchester Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Ocean County Sheriffs Office K-9 unit, Higgins said.
