Manchester Woman's Pop 'Baby Trump' GoFundme Removed

A second campaign she started to promote respect for the president was removed as well.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Just hours after a Manchester Township woman created a GoFundme campaign to support her efforts to pop the "Baby Trump" balloon that is scheduled to come to New Jersey, the fundraiser has been removed. So has a new one she started in its place.

Kathie Kitt Conklin of Manchester started a GoFundme campaign Thursday to fund her mission to pop the "Baby Trump" balloon, which was flown in London while Trump was in Britain last week and is expected to come to the United States in about a month. The balloon is expected to come to New Jersey, where Trump has a weekend resort.

"GoFundme took it down," Conklin said shortly after noon. "It's been modified to show no destruction and reposed."

The second campaign, titled "Operation: President Trump RESPECT!" that had a goal of $1,000 was taken sometime before 3 p.m.

The goal of the campaign, she wrote, was "To show respect and support to President Trump is my Hope and Dream. To encourage POSITIVE reflection. Not all the hatred! show your support. All proceeds will go towards positively reflecting our strong belief that respect is deserved by ALL.. including our president!"

"Tell me how that is fair with what is going on!" Conklin said in a message to Patch. "That should be the coverage you need to find, why disrespect is ALLOwed againt Trump but not RESPECT.. does that not seem WRONG to YOU?"

A GoFundme spokesman said the first campaign was removed because it violated the platform's terms of service, which specify it cannot be used "for the legal defense of alleged crimes associated with hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender or gender identity, or serious disabilities or diseases." All of the donors' money has been refunded, the spokesman said.

The second campaign appeared to have violated the terms of service that specify "collecting or providing funds for any purpose other than as described in a Campaign description."

The terms of service also specify GoFundme can remove any campaign "it may deem in its sole discretion to be unacceptable."

The original campaign had a goal of $5,000, with intent to cover bail expenses, Conklin had written on that campaign.

"I'm tired of people disrespecting our President!" Conklin wrote on the original campaign. "I plan on taking out this ridiculous balloon, but as everyone is aware, Trump support(er)s end up in jail while liberals walk away with not even a slap on the wrist."

"It's time we took our country back.. and not with Violence, but with Morals for the love of our country! GOD BLESS AMERICA!" she had written.
