Manchester's Pine Lake Park Holding Community-Wide Garage Sale

The annual event grows larger each year, organizers say.

MANCHESTER, NJ — It is the mother of all garage sales, so big you need a map to catch them all.

And it's coming up in the township's Pine Lake Park section.

On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18, the section of the township will be a mass of cars meandering its streets, bargain hunters seeking hidden gems and homeowners looking to lighten their homes and fatten their wallets.

The garage sale is an annual event organized by the Pine Lake Park Taxpayers Improvement Association. Participating residents register and pay a fee, with the money from the fee going to help ongoing efforts to restore and maintain the log cabin that also functions as the community's clubhouse. Last year, more than 100 homes registered for the event.

There are maps that get distributed showing the registered homes and the group advertises it so that all the participating homes are highlighted.

Maps can be picked up at the Lucky 7 Deli and Market, 1980 Route 37, or after 11 a.m. at Emelio's Pizza, 1889 Ridgeway Road. Homes participating in the garage sale are marked with balloons. Organizers said there is a wedding at the clubhouse on Saturday and maps will not be available there.

If you're a garage sale connoisseur, this is your dream event.
