MANCHESTER, NJ — After weeks of rehearsals and practice, the participants in the Manchester Summer Theater Program have reached their goal: the performances of Matilda Jr.

Matilda Jr. the Musical will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at Manchester Township High School.

Matilda Jr. tells the story of a girl who dreams of a better life, away from her cruel adoptive parents who hate school and learning. She convinces them to let her go to school, where she repeatedly finds herself in trouble with the school's headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who hates children and loves to punish them.
