Motorcyclist Hospitalized After New Year's Day Crash In Manchester
Manchester police said the Ocean County man was seriously injured but the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A motorcyclist was hospitalized Monday following a crash at Route 571 and Beacon Street, Manchester police said Tuesday.
Gabriel Riccicarvalho, 27, of Jackson, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Manchester Capt. James Komsa said.
Riccicarvalho was riding a black-and-yellow 2002 Honda CBR motorcycle west on Route 571 shortly after 2 p.m. Monday when a white 2010 Mercedes-Benz SUV driven by Natasha Solomon, 43, of Manchester, pulled onto Route 571 from Beacon Street, in front of the motorcycle, Komsa said.

Manchester Patrolman Keith Douglas is investigating the crash, Komsa said, but the preliminary investigation shows an improper turn appears to be the primary contributing factor.
Assisting at the scene were emergency medical technicians and firefighters from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Priced Rite Towing.
