Mustang Joe's Team Spreads Holiday Cheer In Manchester Middle School

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Mustang Joe's Coffee Cart spread holiday cheer with its weekly coffed-and-treats visits around Manchester Township Middle School, and took its offerings to new places in December.

The coffee cart is operated by the small group instructional classes at the middle school, giving those students an opportunity to exercise their math, public speaking, socialization, culinary, life skills, communication, teamwork and so much more.

Each student has a job such as being a greeter, cashier, delivery specialist, server, and barista while they fulfill orders from the school's staff for distribution. On delivery day, their classroom is buzzing with students who are busy freshly brewing hot and iced coffee, making lemonade and sun teas, as well as whipping up their special "Room 102 Brew," a sun tea/lemonade mix. No detail is forgotten as the ice cubes are customized to the drink, the labels are personalized to the staff member or event, and the cart is themed.

For the holiday season, the classes of Renee Strange and Corrine Stinemire-Tordik set up the yearly Staff Cookie Exchange with Mustang Joe’s. They also held a Holiday Autism Shirt fundraiser for Mustang Mentors.

One stop during the holiday week welcomed the school district's bus drivers as they arrived for dismissal runs at the middle school. They set up a complimentary Cocoa and Cookies Cart to wish them happy holidays and thank our bus drivers for all that they do. The students pre-made 25 delicious cups of hot chocolate, baked and packaged cookies, and decorated the Mustang Joe's Coffee Cart with festive holiday decor complete with music. It was a welcomed greeting that created a coffee house atmosphere and gave the bus drivers a few moments of appreciation and relaxation amid their busy work day.

Supplies for The Mustang Joe's Coffee Cart are provided to the students thanks to the generous donations made by community members through DonorsChoose. Funds raised by The Mustang Joe's Coffee Cart are used for more supplies, class trips, and more!
